TROY — Deputies from the Miami County Sheriff’s Office are searching for a silver 2021 Chevy Malibu that was reported stolen from Chevrolet of Troy on South Market Street around noon on Wednesday, Nov. 2.

The sheriff’s office is currently reviewing security camera footage from the scene, and the vehicle has been entered into the federal National Crime Information Center (NCIC) system.

“As of right now, the car has not been recovered,” Chief Deputy Stephen Lord said. “The case is pending.”

“Those vehicles get entered into a statewide system,” Lord said, “and also NCIC which is a federal system where basically if anybody runs a plate in law enforcement, it puts out an alert that it has been stolen.”

“It’s not unusual to have cars stolen off lots,” he said. “Typically, they get stolen and then they are abandoned somewhere. Often, they are recovered down in the Dayton area.”

Anyone with information about the vehicle should contact the Miami County Sheriff’s Office at 937-440-6085.
