TROY — The Drawing Room Chamber Concert series is presented monthly at the Troy-Hayner Cultural Center. The concerts are hosted by Wright State University music educator, Steven Aldredge who is a pianist and composer in his own right. Concerts are free to the public and music students are encouraged to attend. This series is a unique experience with chamber musicians as they are free to share their thoughts and feelings about the music they bring us.

The next Drawing Room Chamber Concert will be on Tuesday, Feb. 28 at 7:30 p.m. featuring Stephen M. Wadsack on trumpet and Amy Gray on piano. Wadsack received his Master of Music in Trumpet Performance from University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) and his Bachelor of Music Education from University of Wyoming. He serves as the Wright State University Instructor of Trumpet and directs the Wright State University Jazz Ensemble. In addition to his responsibilities with the trumpet studio and jazz studies, he coaches chamber music ensembles, and performs in the Faculty Brass Quintet. As a performer, Stephen regularly appears with a wide variety of ensembles including Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra, Lexington Philharmonic Orchestra, Richmond Symphony Orchestra and Springfield Symphony Orchestra. Wadsack is also in demand as a commercial/jazz trumpeter and recording artist and is passionate and active as a champion of new music. Wadsack has been published by Wyoming Windsong, the Wyoming Music Educators’ Journal. Stephen was also recently invited to present at both the North American Baroque Trumpet Conference and the ITG Conference to present research.

Gray has been employed at Wright State University since 2002 as a collaborative artist and instructor. She received her bachelor’s degree in piano performance in 2002 at Wright State and a master’s degree in choral conducting performance and music education in 2011 at Wright State. She accompanies various recitals, concerts and vocal lessons in music and theater and teaches private piano to musical theater and acting students. She also is an accompanist for the musical theater preparatory program. Amy has also been active in church ministry for 28 years. Currently, she is the Director of Music Ministry at Holy Family Parish in Middletown.

Gray has played for various community choirs, such as the Dayton Philharmonic Chorus, Musica and accompanies at various high school and middle school choral concerts.
