Edison State women go to 11-0; Prep girls basketball roundup

WILMINGTON — The Edison State women’s basketball team improved to 11-0 with a 93-56 win over Wilmington College JVs.

Edison State led 21-20 after one quarter before pulling away.

The Chargers led 41-32 at halftime and 64-38 after three quarters.

Whitney Staggs had a double-double with 19 points and 11 rebounds and Allison Siefring had 20 points, seven rebounds and three steals.

Kailah Johnson scored 10 points, Victoria Newland had seven points and eight rebounds and Maddy Bakosh had six assists and six steals.

Makayla Blount had nine points and five rebounds and Haileigh Behnken scored eight points.

Audra Schaub had five steals and Nia Johnson added three steals.

Edison was 39 of 93 from the floor for 42 percent, including two of five from long range for 40 percent.

Edison made 13 of 22 free throws for 59 percent, had 46 rebounds, 27 steals and 10 turnovers.

Greenville 30

GREENVILLE — The Tippecanoe girls basketball team improved to 3-3 overall and 2-2 in the MVL.

Tipp led 16-7, 26-13 and 32-23 at the quarter breaks.

W. Carrollton 73,

Piqua 15

PIQUA — The Piqua girls basketball team dropped to 0-7 overall and 0-5 in MVL play with a home loss.

West Carrollton led 18-4, 35-11 and 64-15 at the quarter breaks.

Kenzi Anderson had six points and two steals for Piqua.

Ashln Sullivan blocked two shots.
