TROY — The iconic Mayflower Theater building in downtown Troy will soon house a live entertainment venue, craft cocktail bar, and retail store.
Wes Martin, owner of Busted Brick Realty LLC., purchased the building at 9 W. Main St. and will be working with Anthony Scott, founder of A.M. Scott Distillery and former co-owner of Moeller Brew Barn, to bring the space to life.
“After spending time in the beer industry, I decided to pursue a new path and develop a collection of spirits. The Mayflower will provide a unique opportunity to try our collection of spirits, along with others, in a thoughtfully designed building. The renovated space will include a craft cocktail bar, a live entertainment venue for up-and-coming acts, and a rooftop bar,” Scott said.
The retail portion of the building will be called Provisions Co., a brand founded in 2019 by Jess Nielsen, chief marketing officer for A.M. Scott Distillery and former CMO of Moeller Brew Barn. Nielsen has spent her career working in interior design, architecture and product development.
“It’s always an honor to work on historic buildings, and the Mayflower building has a special story to tell,” Nielson said. “I’m certain this new venue and retail location will be unlike anything in the area, and will only add to the vibrancy of downtown Troy.”
“Provisions Co. will feature the A.M. Scott Distillery line of spirits, along with goods designed to celebrate Ohio’s rich history of innovation,” Nielsen said.
Martin, a West Milton native and offensive guard for the Washington Commanders, shared his enthusiasm for the future of the building.
“Saving meaningful buildings is important to me. The Mayflower building is iconic and has great bones. I look forward to working with this talented team to bring the space to life and offer a new experience to the area,” Martin said.
Exterior renovation of the building at 9 W. Main St. is ongoing, with a target completion date of mid to late 2023. Until the Mayflower renovation is complete, Provisions Co. will open in late 2022 at 214 S. Mulberry St. in Troy.
