TROY — First place in the MVL will be on the line Wednesday night when the Troy girls basketball team travels to Sidney.

Both teams will bring 12-2 conference records into that game, while West Carrollton and Butler are both one game back.

Troy, 12-6 overall, is coming off a disappointing 60-51 loss to Butler Saturday.

The Trojans led 28-26 at halftime, but Butler outscored them 18-10 in the third quarter to go in front 44-38 and Troy never recovered.

Butler’s Sami Bardonaro opened the fourth quarter with a 3-pointer and the closest Troy got six on a 3-point play by Macie Taylor midway through the fourth quarter.

Taylor had 21 points, seven rebounds, four steals and six assists for Troy.

Morgan Kaiser had nine points and Brynn Siler added seven points and six rebounds.

Bardonaro led all scorers with 24 points, hitting 11 of 12 free throws in the game.

Evan Neely had 15 points and five rebounds, Olivia Follick netted 11 points and Lauren Dady had eight points and nine rebounds.

W. Carrollton 61,

Piqua 31

WEST CARROLLTON — The Piqua girls basketball team stayed close for a half before losing to West Carrollton Saturday.

West Carrollton led 13-6 after one quarter, but it was tied 19-19 at halftime.

West Carrollton took a 41-26 lead after three quarters.

Covington 54,

Versailles 42

KNIGHTSTOWN, Ind. — Claudia Harrington hit a scoring milestone in a historic place as the Covington girls basketball team defeated Versailles Saturday at Hoosiers Gym.

Covington, 15-4, led 18-6, 24-20 and 39-29 at the quarter breaks.

Covington will host Riverside in the Coaches vs. Cancer game Thursday.

Harrington scored 22 points and now has 1,010 points in her career.

She added three steals.

Carlie Besecker added 17 points and eight rebounds and Gracie Anderson scored nine points and had six rebounds.

Claire Fraley had six rebounds and blocked three shots and Maggie Anderson had four assists.

Miami East 54,

Riverside 20

CASSTOWN — The Miami East girls basketball team stayed atop the TRC with an easy win.

The Vikings host Bethel Thursday in a big TRC matchup.

Camryn Francis had 10 points and seven rebounds for East, while Logan Phillips had eight points and five rebounds.

Mara Posey had seven points and Paxton Hunley, McKayah Musselman and Kayly Fetters all scored six points.

Hunley added six rebounds, five steals and two blocked shots and Abigail Kadel had four steals.

Bethel 53,

Milton 25

WEST MILTON — Bethel split the season series with the Bulldogs with a win Saturday.

Karley Moore filled out the stat sheet with 19 points, 12 rebounds, five assists and seven steals for Bethel and Kerigan Calhoun added 19 points and six rebounds.

Leah Heffner had seven rebounds, Rhyan Reittinger had four assists and Zoie Drummond had three steals.

Jenna Brumbaugh had seven points and 10 rebounds for Milton-Union.

Raegan Fulton scored seven points and Ava Berberich had six points and five steals.

Shannon Brumbaugh pulled down seven rebounds and Annie Smith grabbed six rebounds.
