I-75 crash causes injuries, traffic delays

STAUNTON TOWNSHIP — A four-vehicle crash on northbound I-75 caused multiple injuries and resulted in a several mile traffic back up on Monday.

The crash occurred around 1:30 p.m. at the I-75/Co. Rd. 25-A exit at the Farrington Interchange. State troopers from the Piqua Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol said that one of the four vehicles was a semi-tractor pulling a shed. The semi jack-knifed in the roadway. Another vehicle that sustained heavy damage had the driver trapped inside.

Adding to the issues, a fuel spill resulted in Miami County Haz-Mat being activated and the Ohio EPA being contacted.

No information as to the cause of the crash or condition of the victims have been released.

In addition to the Ohio Highway Patrol and Miami County Haz-Mat, Piqua Fire Department along with medic units from Piqua and Troy responded.

I-75 northbound was closed to traffic for several hours.

The crash in under investigation by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
