COVINGTON — Ileen Joan Graves, age 90 of Covington, passed away Monday, February 8, 2021 at the Kettering Medical Center.

Joan was born in Bradford on December 19, 1930 to the (late) Lloyd & Fairy (Colbert) Farmer; a graduate of Covington High School, Class of 1948; was a U.S. Air Force veteran serving during the Korean War; retired from Covington Schools as a cook with 20+ years of service; attended Fields of Grace Worship Center, Covington; a member of the Covington Eagles Aerie #3998; a member of Covington VFW Post #4235 Ladies Auxiliary; a member of the American Legion AB Cole Post #80, Covington Ladies Auxiliary; enjoyed sewing, crocheting, making homemade dish scrubbies, doing crossword puzzles and jigsaw puzzles.

Preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Lee Bordelon in 1959; second husband, William Frederick Graves in 1991; step-daughter, Sharon Graves; granddaughter, Nichole Bordelon; two brothers, Lloyd Farmer Jr. died during active duty; Chalmer Farmer; and sister, Margaret Thomas. Joan is survived by her three sons, Michael Bordelon of St. Mary’s, Steven Bordelon & Karen Hatfield of Covington, Chris & wife, Michelle Graves of Greenville; step-son, Robert and wife, Cathy Graves of San Antonio, TX; four grandchildren, Dalton & wife, Stephanie Bordelon, Hannah Bordelon, Jeremy Bordelon, and Olivia Graves; sister and brother-in-law, Patty & Keith Altic of Covington; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Private Graveside Services at Highland Cemetery, Covington with Pastor Graham Furrow officiating will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Covington BUCC Boosters, Hospice of Miami County, or Covington Fire & Rescue. Condolences may be left for the family at www.stockerfraley.com.
