TROY — Kettering Health continued to provide high-quality, compassionate care to the region’s communities in 2022 through the many services we offer, including primary care, women’s health, heart and vascular, pain management, behavioral health, emergency care, and cancer care.

Care expansion, employee and patient experience in focus

“From last year to this year, you will see our continued emphasis on increasing the health of our community. I really admire the expertise that our providers bring so that we can provide the best in healthcare. Our team believes in our ability to give compassionate care to the four counties we serve. The primary campuses in Troy and Piqua focus on excellence and engagement for our workplace,” explained Michael Brendel, president of Kettering Health Troy.

His report continues:

Employee and patient experience

The people who work in Kettering Health Troy and Kettering Health Piqua are our foundation to caring. Based on a survey of more than 2,800 hospitals, our employee engagement is in the top quartile in the nation. We know that the health of our team is the catalyst for the ability to care for our communities. In surveys of our patient experience, we are in the top quartile in the nation for “likelihood to recommend.” These results go hand-in-hand with our awesome team that is committed to helping those around us be their best.

Safety

We know the safety of the care we provide is important to our community. Kettering Health Troy continues to receive an “A” rating for safety by the Leapfrog Group. Their Hospital Safety Grade program uses performance measures to grade a hospital’s ability to keep patients safe from preventable harm and medical errors.

Safe care also means offering high-quality and relevant care. As we continue to tend to the health of our communities while COVID-19 persists, we have kept our plan of care for COVID-19 patients up to date to provide the most appropriate treatment in our regional clinics, medical centers and emergency departments.

Growth in the community

Our goal is to provide a healthy and healing place with the care and expertise to keep patients close to home. In the Troy and Piqua area, Kettering Health Medical Group expanded over the last year with seven new primary care practice providers and nine additional specialists in general surgery, cancer surgery, cardiology, pain management, orthopedics, and urology.

Looking forward

In 2023, we have a few areas of focus to improve your health, not just to bring healing, but to make you feel better and function at your best.

Providing a “path of care” creates healthier communities overall. We’re here for your emergency care in our emergency centers, and we will continue to build a path to connect with providers who want to care for you throughout your life. We’ll continue to grow, providing the services our community needs most by optimizing our capacity, increasing access, and offering healthy lifestyle programs.

In 2023, we’ll also continue to address the needs of our excellent team. The challenges we’ve faced in healthcare throughout the pandemic have made the overall health and wellness of our workforce paramount. We want to continue to extend gratitude to our employees for their care, and we remain committed to supporting them—and our community—for years to come. Together, we will provide the care our communities deserve, so you can be your best.
