Silent Wings Trail Adventure at Brukner Nature Center

TROY — The new year brings with it long dark nights, the coldest temperatures of the year, and owls beginning their breeding season! While most of us humans enjoy hunkering down over the winter away from the cold and wind, owls are covered from head to toe with warm insulating feathers making January a great time to find a mate and begin the nesting process. Take a hike at BNC this January, and search for three owl cutouts placed in the forest. Bring your smart phone to learn more about the owls and take a picture with each. Then email the pics to the Brukner Nature Center at [email protected] or stop inside the Interpretive Building to show them. Anyone who takes photos with all three owls will receive a bag of bird seed as their prize! You may even see your photo on the Brukner Nature Center’s Facebook or Instagram.

Brukner Nature Center is located at 5995 Horseshoe Bend Road in Troy and can be contacted at (937) 698-6493. For more information, visit www.bruknernaturecenter.com.
