Road closure planned

MIAMI COUNTY — Versailles Road will be closed between Fetters Road and the Darke County Line starting March 21 through April 1 for culvert replacements.

MCD board to meet

DAYTON — The Board of Directors of the Miami Conservancy District and its Subdistricts will hold a special meeting by teleconferenceat 5 p.m. on March 22. The Board of Directors will immediately adjourn to executive session for the purpose of considering the employment of a public employee as allowed by Ohio Revised Code.

Board of Elections to meet Wednesday

MIAMI COUNTY — The Miami County Board of Elections will meet on Wednesday, March 23, on the first floor of the Miami County Courthouse, at 215 W. Main Street, Troy. The meeting will begin at 5 p.m.

Items on the agenda include:

1. Schools as polling locations

2. Office space discussion

3. Redistricting update

4. May Primary Election Preparation, including approval of grant funds and of purchases using those funds

Dining with Diabetes classes set

MIAMI COUNTY — OSU Extension in Miami County is offering a Dining with Diabetes Class in partnership with Health Partners Free Clinic. The program consists of four sessions covering a variety of food and diabetes related topics. Participants will receive a kit to cook the food in their own homes along with other incentives for participating. All classes are free and held virtually.

Classes start April 12 and run the next four weeks from 1- 2 p.m. each week.

Participation is free, with registration required.

Greenville VFW hosting Singles Dances

GREENVILLE — The Greenville VFW is now sponsoring the Darke County Singles Dances. The next dance is on Saturday March 26, 2022.

The doors open at 6 p.m. and dancing will be from 8-11 p.m. Cover charge is $7 per person. The band will be Cotton.

Food will be available, along with 50/50 raffle, door prizes, and instant tickets. Come enjoy a fun evening of dancing. Must be 21 years of age.

Veterans invited to ‘Muster and Mingle’ on March 31

MIAMI COUNTY — Operation Veteran and Caregiver Support, a 501c3 operating out of Piqua that works with veterans and their caregivers to ensure that they are receiving the care they deserve, will host its next “Muster & Mingle” event on Thursday, March 31, from 5-7 p.m.

The event is a space for veterans of all eras to come together to share stories and learn more about what is available to them. Last month, they hosted the Dayton VA Medical Center at a spaghetti supper.

This month, on Thursday, March 31, from 5-7 p.m., they will be hosting veterans and their families for a Bad Art Night at the Troy-Miami County Public Library. They will be serving snacks and drinks while they unleash their creativity with paint, glitter, stickers, pipe cleaners, etc., all in an attempt to make the “best” worst art project of the night. Prizes will be awarded!

Easter, spring bazaar set for April 2

GREENVILLE — Fort Black OES will be hosting an Easter/Spring Bazaar from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 2, at the Greenville Masonic Temple located at 200 Memorial Drive in Greenville.

Vendors will be selling different crafts, jewelry, towels, bags, painted rocks, quilted items, wood items, Pampered Chef, chalk pictures, Tastefully Simple, Easter baskets, greeting cards, soaps, farmhouse crafts, dog treats, wreaths, crosses, jewelry boxes, and much more.

There will be a concession available. No charge for admittance.
