Discussion postponed
TROY — Patrick Kennedy, archivist for the Troy-Miami County Public Library Local History Library, was previously scheduled to speak on local, historic Black churches on Thursday, Jan. 20, at the Troy-Hayner Cultural Center, but that discussion has been postponed. The future date of the discussion has not been announced.
The Troy Historical Society meeting will still be held on Thursday, Jan. 20, at 7 p.m. at the Troy-Hayner Cultural Center.
Piqua Commission meeting canceled
PIQUA — The Piqua City Commission canceled its regular scheduled Jan. 18, 2022 Piqua City Commission meeting due to technical difficulties. A special Piqua City Commission meeting will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2022 for executive session. The updated agenda will be available on Friday, Jan. 21, 2022 at www.piquaoh.org.
Lostcreek Township board meets
LOSTCREEK TOWNSHIP — The Lostcreek Township Board of Trustees held an organizational meeting on Jan. 6, 2022. Eric Carey was elected president and Samuel Buchman as vice president. Walter Pemberton is the township fiscal officer. The regular meetings for Lostcreek Township will be held the first and third Thursday of each month at 7 p.m. Special meeting notices will be posted at the township building in Casstown. The annual financial report has been completed and is available for review at the township building in Casstown by contacting the fiscal officer. Surplus equipment will be disposed of on GovDeals.
AARP offering free tax preparation
MIAMI COUNTY — The AARP Foundation Tax-Aide is offering completely free tax preparation starting in February through April 15. You do not have to be a member of AARP to take advantage of this. Places are available all throughout Miami County, including the following:
