PIQUA — MainStreet Piqua has declared their 2021 Coloring Contest a success. Held in conjunction with the annual Rockin’ River Duck Drop, the contest drew over 120 entries this year.

Mainstreet Director Lorna Swisher said, “We were so glad to be able to bring the coloring contest back this year. It’s a fun activity for all ages — and a reminder that the Duck Drop race will be held on Aug. 21.”

Swisher also commented on the quality of this year’s entries. “We were impressed with both the quantity and the quality of the entries. We have a very creative and talented community. They were all so terrific – I’m very glad that I wasn’t a judge!”

Awards were given to the top three finishers in each age bracket. Prizes were donated by these generous sponsors: Susie’s Big Dipper, This N That’s Candy on Main, and Cinemark Movie Theater in Piqua.

The 2021 Coloring Contest Winners Are:

Ages 1-6:

• First Place: Emery Rutlege, who won a $25 Susie’s Big Dipper Gift Card and a $25 This N That’s Candy on Main Gift Certificate.

• Second Place: Christiana Clements, who won an adopted duck in the Duck Drop Event.

• Third Place: Annabelle Baumhauer, who won a stuffed duck toy.

Ages 7-12:

• First Place: Brianna Strano, who won a $25 Susie’s Big Dipper Gift Card and a $25 This N That’s Candy on Main Gift Certificate.

• Second Place: James Bayman, who won an adopted duck in the Duck Drop Event.

• Third Place: Harper Taylor, who won $5 Market Day Dollars.

Age 13 and older:

• First Place: LaDonna Vonderhuevel, who won two guest passes and food vouchers at Cinemark Movie Theatre in Piqua.

• Second Place: Becca Henry, who won an adopted duck in the Duck Drop Event.

• Third Place: Lily Gomez, who won $5 Market Day Dollars.
