TROY — The Miami County Commissioners authorized several contract agreements during their meeting on Thursday, Feb. 1.

First, the commissioners approved the purchase of 20 Ubiquiti Unifi6 wireless access points installed in every Miami County building that supports WiFi capabilities for staff and the public, replacing current access points installed in 2016 for $5,322.60.

Next, the commissioners authorized a Verizon Connect Participation Agreement through Sourcewell on behalf of the Miami County Auditor to purchase GPS units for the three county vehicles assigned and operated by county auditor employees for $1,014. This agreement may be terminated upon the mutual written agreement of either party.

“This will be to provide GPS units on all three of the vehicles that are assigned to the auditor to provide security and visibility as to where those vehicles are out,” said Chief Deputy Auditor Angela Hubbard

The commissioners also authorized a $ 500,000 two-year Title IV-E Child Placement Contract with Compassion Care LP, of Dayton, as requested by Jennifer Anderson, contract evaluator for the Department of Job and Family Services.

The commissioners authorized the following two-year custodial service contact agreements for Miami County buildings:

• Integrity Service Group of West Milton for services at the Miami County Safety Building for $38,976.

• Quinn’s Commercial Cleaning Services of Fairborn for services at the Miami County Courthouse for $54,000.

In other business, the commissioners approved or authorized the following agenda items:

• To amend credit card expenditure requests for January, February, and March 2024 and authorize the addition of $1,000 subscriptions for card numbers with the last four digits of 1782 and 1774. Michael Clarey, chief administrative officer, said this amendment was instituted because most online subscriptions no longer accept checks.

• For the Miami County Animal Shelter to transfer the title of a 2009 Ford Econoline E250 Van with approximately 141,027 miles to the Troy-Miami County Public Library. Said vehicle is unfit for the use for which it was originally acquired. The library will use said vehicle to transport books, shelving, and supplies to other locations around the county.

• To sign an employee requisition form for a full-time telecommunicator in the Communication Center Department at a pay rate of $22.91 per hour due to Jennifer Noll’s retirement.

• To sign an employee verification form for William Rose as a Social Services Caseworker in the Department of Job and Family Services at a pay rate of $21.56 per hour, beginning on Feb. 5.
