MC Commissioners OK purchase of defibrillators

TROY – The purchase of 14 automatic external defibrillators (AED’s) for the Miami County Safety Building and Courthouse was authorized by Miami County Commissioners at their general meeting on Thursday, Jan. 26.

The cost of the purchase is $22,680 which is utilizing ARPA funds. The AED’s will be placed throughout the buildings mounted on the walls in case of emergency situations. During the meeting, the commissioners discussed provided training to various county employees which would assist in any emergency situations.

Then, they approved the Safety Building HVAC duct work repair and seal project for a cost not to exceed $46,800. According to the resolution, “The scope of work for the concrete coping is to power wash the surface, wire brush exposed rebar and applying a primer coat with two (2) additional coats of concrete sealant. The scope of work for the HVAC project includes power washing the truck lines, wire brushing all rusted areas, applying a primer coat to all exposed surfaces, sealing all HVAC expansion/compression ring areas and applying the final solar guard product at the Safety Building.”

The other approved resolutions include the following:

• Lawn Care Services for 2023 and 2024 for the Miami County Sanitary Engineering Department, Miami County Transfer Station, and eight Miami County Sewage Pumping Stations for $13,955;

• Contract negotiations for a sewer study on the Brandt Sanitary Sewer System;

• Adoption of the Public Transportation Agency Safety Plan (PTASP) which was revised and updated;

• Information Exchange Agreement between the Miami County Juvenile Court and the city of Union Police Department for LEADS Access.
