March 12
JUVENILE ISSUE: While working at the Upper Valley Career Center, SRO Osting was contacted by school officials regarding a student caught in the restroom using a vape pen. After speaking with the student it was confirmed it was THC oil they were smoking. This student was issued school discipline also a citation for possession of drug paraphernalia.
THEFT: A catalytic converter was stolen from the Crossroad Church of God’s van. The church is located in the 9000 block of Looney Road, Piqua.
March 13
ASSIST RESIDENT: A deputy responded to the 5700 block of South State Route 571, Newton Twp. in reference to an elderly female being on the homeowner’s property. After further investigation, it was found the female was lost and unable to get back to her residence. The homeowners advised they would transport the female home.
FRAUD: A Elizabeth Twp. resident reported he received a bill from AT&T for four phones and a new service plan that he had no knowledge of. He stated he has not had any recent dealing with AT&T, nor did he ever receive new phones from them. The resident contacted AT&T and they advised it appears this was a fraudulent transaction by an unknown person. AT&T advised the resident they will close the account and he will not owe them any money. They also stated their fraud dept will investigate the issue on their end.
FRAUD: A counterfeit $20 bill was attempted to pass at the Staunton Country Store. Lisa Anoles was charged with counterfeiting, drug possession, and possession of drug abuse instruments.
OVI: A deputy initiated a traffic stop at the intersection of Troy-Sidney and Miami Shelby Road, Springcreek Twp. The deputy charged the driver with OVI.
POSSESSION: A deputy initiated a traffic stop for failure to have the license plate illuminated in the area of Nashville Road in Concord Twp. The driver was cited for possession of marijuana.
March 15
UNRULY: A deputy responded to Milton-Union Schools on a report of a seventh-grader being unruly on the school bus. The juvenile was charged.
BREAKING AND ENTERING: Deputies responded to the 10000 block of North Spiker Road, Washington Twp., on a suspicious complaint. After further investigation, it determined a suspect had entered a barn, as well as a camper on the property. The suspect then attempted to take the listed vehicle but was unsuccessful.
BUS STOP: A deputy was dispatched to the area of West State Route 41 and Washington Road in reference to a reckless operation complaint. Upon further investigation, it was found that an individual driving a company vehicle had run the red lights on a school bus from the city of Troy. The driver will be identified and a citation will be issued when the driver has been identified.
