Information filed by the Miami County Sheriff’s Office:

Feb. 11

THEFT: A report of theft from the Dollar General in the 1000 block of W. State Route 36, Washington Twp. was filed.

Feb. 12

THEFT: A deputy responded to the 5000 block of Ross Road, Bethel Twp. for a theft complaint. A generator, drill, and drill bits were reported stolen from inside the unlocked and enclosed garage area. Case pending.

BUS ISSUE: A bus driver reported a vehicle ran the red lights of a Piqua school bus while it was in the process of dropping off children in the 8000 block of North County Road 25-A. A written report of this incident was obtained from the bus driver.

THEFT: A deputy was dispatched to the 8700 block of Lauver Road, Newton Twp. in reference to a burglary. Upon further investigation, the reporting parties’ detached garage had been broken into, and several Dewalt tools had been taken. Photos were taken of the scene.

Feb. 13

K9 DETECTS METH: A deputy was dispatched to the Tipp City Wendy’s for a free air sniff at the request of Tipp City Police Department. During the investigation, Vello alerted at the driver door. The deputy asked the driver, Tammy Danner, if there is any reason K9 Vello would have alerted to the odor of narcotics around her vehicle, and she stated she had methamphetamine inside her purse.

The deputy was later contacted by Tipp City Police and informed that 5.6 grams of methamphetamine and a pipe were located inside the vehicle.

WARRANT: A deputy was dispatched to the Stillwater Ridge Sports Center in West Milton in reference to a warrant. In further investigation, the deputy assisted the detective section in arresting Michael Kleismit, 34, of Verona, with the warrant for three counts of breaking and entering.
