May 11

WARRANT: A deputy made contact with Keith Nolan of Bradford. The deputy was aware that Nolan had an active warrant for his arrest and he was taken into custody without incident.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE: A deputy responded to a criminal damage complaint in the 4000 block of South State Route 202 in Bethel Township. The property owner reported several bullet holes located in a silo door on the property. The owner requested documentation of the damage and was issued a case number for her records.

DISTURBANCE: The road division was requested to respond to the Miami County Incarceration Facility in reference to a combative inmate. The inmate eventually complied and was transferred to the downtown jail.

ANIMAL COMPLAINT: A deputy was dispatched to the listed residence for an animal complaint. Upon further investigation, a male was cited for failing to confine his dog.

RECKLESS OPERATION: A complainant reported a road rage incident where the vehicle in front of him was brake checking and at the listed intersection the driver got out of his car and yelled and cursed at the complainant and then hit his car window several times. The incident was caught on video and after speaking with the suspect, he was cited.

May 12

ANIMAL COMPLAINT: A deputy received a call from Brad Mercer with the Greater Dayton Humane Society. He requested deputies respond to the 2000 block of Ebberts Road, Troy, and do a welfare check on animals. He advised there were dogs, cats, birds, rabbits and guinea pigs. The Miami County Animal Shelter responded as well, and at the conclusion of the investigation, the owner surrendered two goats and eight birds to be rehomed.

May 13

THEFT: A deputy was dispatched to the 5000 block of Troy-Frederick Road in reference to a theft complaint. Upon arrival, the reporting party indicated his truck keys and $1,680 were stolen from his vehicle by his daughter.

TRAFFIC STOP: A deputy made a traffic stop on a vehicle on North Main Street in Casstown for a stop sign violation. The driver of the vehicle was subsequently cited for driving under suspension and the stop sign violation. The driver was also found to have an active warrant through Miami County Municipal Court for theft in which he was arrested and booked into the Miami County Jail.

THEFT: A deputy responded to a theft complaint at the listed address. The reporting party stated her mail has been missing over the past eight days. The local post office has been notified and will hold all mail to be picked up. This case is pending further investigation.
