Jan. 30

FRAUD: A Newton Twp. resident reported receiving a tax return without filing for it. Case documented.

FRAUD: A Concord Twp. resident reported receiving a tax return without filing for it. The reporting party also was advised to report the incident to Job and Family Services. Case documented.

FRAUD: A Washington Twp. resident reported someone filed for unemployment benefits in their name.

FRAUD: A Troy resident reported someone filed for unemployment benefits in their name.

BREAKING AND ENTERING: A report of stolen items from the 100 block of Clay Street, Bradford, was filed. Multiple items were stolen from the property.

Jan. 31

FRAUD: A Union Township resident reported possible identity theft. The reporting party was contacted by an unknown subject claiming to be with “KAV Information Services” and said their computer was compromised and needed to be fixed professionally. The reporting party was then asked to purchase multiple gift cards as payment. The reporting party asked for the incident to be documented.

THEFT: A resident of Brandt reported someone stole one of her prescription pain patches.

OVI: A deputy was dispatched to the intersection of East State Route 571 and South State Route 202 for a hit and skip accident. Mark Heffernan, 62, of Tipp City, was charged with OVI, hit and skip on a public roadway and assured cleared distance.

Feb. 1

OVI: A deputy responded to an accident with injury call in the 4000 block of South County Road 25-A, Tipp City. Christopher Wolf, 32, of Tipp City, was charged with OVI and assured cleared distance.
