BURGLARY: At 8:19 a.m., a deputy was dispatched to the 900 block of Stony Brook Lane in Concord Township for a burglary complaint. Upon further investigation, an estimated $14,750 worth of tools were stolen from a trailer at a construction site.

INFORMATION REPORT: A deputy was notified of a UVCC student who was exhibiting signs of being impaired. After investigation, the matter was handled by the school.

BAD CHECK: A deputy responded to the Sanitary Engineering Office in reference to the passing of a bad check for insufficient funds. This case is pending at this time.

WARRANT/DRUG POSSESSION: A deputy observed a tan GMC Yukon being driven by a known individual with an active warrant on High Street in Piqua. They were later taken into custody on the 300 block of Short Street at 10:46 a.m. A K9 unit inspected the vehicle and alerted to suspected drugs. According to the Miami County Sheriff’s Office, a baggie containing a crystallized substance, a baggie containing a white powdery substance, and a syringe were located under the front passenger wheel where K9 Vello alerted. Another baggie containing a white powdery substance was located in the steering column of the vehicle. A scale, a pipe, and another needle were located throughout the vehicle. The suspected narcotics are being sent to the Crime Lab for drug recognition. All evidence were booked into the Sheriff’s Office property room.

RECKLESS OPERATION: A deputy was dispatched to the Troy High School bus garage on a report that someone had passed one of their buses after their stop bar was out. This matter is pending contacting the registered owner to determine who was driving the vehicle in question.

THEFT: A deputy spoke with the reporting party who advised that a subject that they allow to hunt on their property had a trail camera stolen. The reporting party wanted this theft documented. This was reported at 10:58 a.m. on the 8400 block of West State Route 571 in Union Township.

THEFT: A deputy was dispatched to a theft complaint in reference to the complainant’s lawn equipment being stolen at 2:45 p.m. on the 1800 block of South Forest Hill Road in Concord Township. The case is currently pending further investigation.

FRAUD: A deputy spoke with a victim of identity theft on Walnut Street in Pleasant Hill at 3:13 p.m. It was reported a credit card had been opened in the complainant’s name. Documentation was requested for the incident.

TRAFFIC STOP: A deputy stopped a Silver Saturn SUV for expired registration on the 9700 block of West State Route 55 in Union Township at 5:11 p.m. The driver was found to have a suspended driver license and was cited. The passenger was found to have an active arrest warrant. He was arrested and incarcerated in the Miami County Jail without issue.

ANIMAL COMPLAINT: A deputy responded to an animal complaint on the 8300 block of North Piqua Lockington Road in Springcreek Township at 6:46 p.m. The complainant advised her neighbor’s dog was running loose in her backyard. It was determined to be an ongoing issue where the dog owner had been cited. Due to the ongoing issue, the dog’s owner was cited.
