CASSTOWN — Recently, 10 Miami East Junior High choir students competed at OMEA District 11 Jr. High Solo and Ensemble Contest. The adjudicated event was host by Milton-Union High School Saturday, April 9.

Each of the student performed a memorized vocal solo for an adjudicator. Every solo performed by the students was from the OMEA high school level solo and ensemble repertoire. Students were judged on their stage presence, posture, breath support, tone, vowels, musicality, and diction.

Congratulations to Caleb Brubaker, Caden Woehrmyer, Cayden Wesco, Emma Anderson, McKenna Bell, Alyssa Sink, Whitni Enis, Jon Hatcher, Emmitt Ondera and Lia Gallegos.

All 10 Miami East students earned the highest score possible, a superior rating. This was the first time in MEJH history for every single soloist to receive superior ratings, and Miami East Local Schools gave the students a congratulations on a job well done. Students were coached and prepared by Omar Lozano and accompanied by Mrs. Melissa Lozano.
