Multiple injuries in head-on crash on 25-A

TROY — A two-vehicle, head-on crash on County Road 25-A at Lytle Road caused multiple injuries on Tuesday morning.

Miami County Sheriff’s Deputies, along with firefighters and medics from Troy Fire Department, were dispatched to the crash shortly before 8 a.m.

First responders arrived to find two vehicles had impacted head-on with one vehicle on its top.

The driver of the overturned vehicle was trapped and had to be extricated by Troy firefighters.

The driver and passengers, including three children all under the age of seven, in the second vehicle were transported by Troy medics to Upper Valley Medical Center for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

The lone female driver of the overturned SUV was also transported to Upper Valley Medical Center. She was later transported aboard CareFlight to Miami Valley Hospital where, according to Lt. Todd Tennant of the Miami Co. Sheriff’s Office, where is listed as on a ventilator in stable condition.

Witnesses on the scene reported that the driver of the black SUV was allegedly driving erratically southbound on County Road 25-A when she crossed left of center, striking the red SUV head-on as it was stopped, waiting to make a left-hand turn onto Lytle Road.

County Road 25-A was closed in both directions as the crash was investigated by Miami County deputies.
