PIQUA — One man was transported following a crash on East Main Street in the Shawnee neighborhood of the city of Piqua on Tuesday.

First responders were dispatched to East Main Street at Carr Street shortly before 6:30 p.m. for an injury crash.

Piqua Police arrived to find a vehicle on its top and the driver trapped.

Firefighters and medics from Piqua Fire Department extricated the occupant, a male in his 50s, from the overturned vehicle. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Piqua Police say that their initial investigation shows that the car was westbound on East Main Street when the driver lost control, striking two parked vehicles before overturning in the middle of the street.

The driver’s name has not been released.

Police say that alcohol is a possible factor in causing the crash.

East Main Street was closed for approximately an hour while the crash was investigated and the debris removed.
