OSP investigates fatal motorcycle crash

SPRINGFIELD – The Springfield Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSP) is investigating a single-vehicle fatal crash in the 1000 block of Scarff Road in New Carlisle on Saturday night.

The preliminary investigation shows a 1997 Harley Davidson, driven by Ray Henderson, 49, of New Carlisle, was traveling northbound on Scarff Road on Saturday, Jan. 28, at approximately 7:51 p.m., when he traveled off the right side of the roadway and hit a utility pole.

According to a press release from OSP, Henderson was pronounced deceased on the scene. Troopers were assisted by the Clark County Sheriff’s Office and the New Carlisle Fire Department.

Henderson was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. Scarff Road was closed for approximately two hours.

The crash remains under investigation by OSP
