PIQUA — Buckeye Mutual Insurance, founded in 1879, elected Oyauma Garrison as vice chairman of the board during the quarterly Board of Directors meeting on March 16.

As a privately held regional company, Buckeye offers auto, home and farm insurance. Garrison is the first African American to hold this position and has served on the Board of Directors since 2019. With over 25 years of experience in the insurance industry, Buckeye is grateful for his leadership and insight.

Oyauma Garrison is the president and CEO of A Kid Again, a nonprofit organization dedicated to working with families raising children with life-threatening diseases to create moments of “normalcy” with shared, family experiences.
