Jan. 10

ASSIST FIRE DEPARTMENT: Assist fire call made at 9:06 a.m. on the 400 block of West High Street. No police response requested by fire department.

WARRANT: Police responded to a residence at the Woodgate Apartments on Covington Avenue in reference to a juvenile male with an active warrant possibly being at the residence at 9:33 a.m. No contact could be made with anyone at the house.

CITIZEN ASSIST: Group home manager reported a resident had left last night and has not returned home. Subject was found to have been transported to a local hospital from a call the day before. Subject was found to still be a patient there. Caller was advised of the findings.

ASSIST FIRE DEPARTMENT: Assist fire made at 11:37 a.m. on the 300 block of West High Street. Dispatched to a fire call. Police presence was not requested.

CITIZEN ASSIST: Police responded to a Baymont Inn and Suites, 950 E. Ash St., in reference to an attempted hack on their credit card system at 1:19 p.m. Business indicated nothing was taken and asked for the incident to be documented.

ACCIDENT: Two-vehicle, non-injury accident reported at 2:31 p.m. in the area of Harrison and East Ash streets. A driver was cited.

SEX OFFENSE: A nurse had reported that a child made statements that made her believe the child was sexually abused.

ANIMAL COMPLAINT: Brown/tan dog reported running loose in area on the 200 block of East Main Street at 3:47 p.m. Owner located and was able to retrieve dog without further incident. No further police action taken.

THEFT: Officers were dispatched to a theft not in progress at Walmart at 5:07 p.m. The suspect, identified as Alisha L. Bryant, 37, of Troy, was charged with first-degree misdemeanor theft in connection with this incident.

THEFT: Walmart advised a female was attempting to steal property at 10:06 p.m. This female, identified as Leigh A. Hale, 50, Piqua, was found and arrested for first-degree misdemeanor theft.

WARRANT: Bryon L. Jones, Sr., 37, of Piqua, was picked up on fifth-degree felony possession of drugs.

Jan. 11

ACCIDENT: Private property crash reported in the parking lot at the Shell gas station at 600 N. Main St. at 1:29 a.m. Drivers exchanged information.

UNRULY: Two female students at the Piqua High School were physically fighting during class change at 1:55 p.m. Parents were contacted, and no inquires were reported. Parents did not want to pursue criminal charges.

CHILD ABUSE: A report was made in the county referencing a child abuse complaint that had occurred within the city. Case is pending.

HARASSMENT: Victim advised she was receiving unwanted texts from three different phone numbers.

THEFT: Subject was caught by loss prevention stealing items at Walmart at 9:10 p.m. Michelle L. Wintrow, 39, of Piqua, was charged with first-degree misdemeanor theft in connection with this incident.
