Feb. 25

ASSIST AGENCY: Piqua police assisted Sidney police with a search warrant at 9:21 a.m.

SUSPICIOUS: A citizen reported an unknown individual was shooting cats with a BB gun on the 700 block of South Main Street. Citizen wanted the police to be aware and advised she would contact the department if she gathered any additional information about the individual.

ACCIDENT: A traffic accident with no injuries was reported at 12:14 p.m. in the area of East Ash Street and Looney Road.

SUSPICIOUS: Police responded to a call referencing an open front door of a residence on the 500 block of Walnut Street at approximately 2 p.m. The interior of the residence was checked, and nobody was located. The front door was secured. Nothing else suspicious was found.

THEFT: There was a report of a theft at Walmart at 2:06 p.m. Jamie A. McCuiston, 39, of Sidney was charged with first-degree misdemeanor theft in connection with this incident.

UNAUTHORIZED USE: A victim reported a known person took her vehicle without permission at 5:40 p.m. on the 500 block of East Statler Road. The vehicle was later recovered at Mote Park.

SUSPICIOUS: Police dispatched to the 8700 block of North County Road 25A for a suspicious complaint at approximately 6 p.m. The subject said a suspicious male was walking the fence line of a business. Officer checked the area and was unable to locate the suspicious male.

DISORDERLY/WELFARE CHECK: Bar reported female passed out and vomited inside at 1 More on Wood Street at approximately 8:50 p.m. An officer responded and spoke to the female, who advised she was okay and did not need medical treatment. Female advised she had a ride on the way to pick her up.

TRESPASSING: Two individuals were warned from trespassing on the 1300 block of Covington Avenue at approximately 10 p.m.

Feb. 26

MENACING: Police dispatched to the area of Race and Water streets for a menacing complaint at 12:11 a.m. A male and female said someone in a car threw a traffic cone at them. Officer identified the subjects in the vehicle, and the male and female did not want anything done.

TELECOMMUNICATIONS HARASSMENT: Subject reported a subject harassing him over the phone on South Main Street at 11:22 p.m.

TRESPASSING: Bar reports intoxicated males refusing to leave at 1 More at 7:41 p.m.

THEFT/ASSAULT: Victim reported a known individual was stealing her vehicle at 9:37 p.m. on the 400 block of West Water Street. Units responded and located the male in the car. Male refused to get out of the vehicle. Male was pulled out and struck an officer in the head. Male was arrested. Bulletproof vest and gun were recovered. Gavin E. Jenkins, 21, of Troy, was charged with fourth-degree felony assault on a peace officer, fourth-degree felony carrying a concealed weapon, third-degree felony having weapons while under disability, and first-degree misdemeanor resisting arrest in connection with this incident. Jenkins is incarcerated in the Miami County Jail on $35,000 bond.

TRAFFIC STOP: Police dispatched to the area of the 9000 block of Looney Road for a reckless operation complaint at approximately 11 p.m. Dispatch said the caller was behind a vehicle that was all over the road and was driving on the wrong side of the road. Officer located the vehicle and stopped it. The driver was arrested for OVI. Eric T. Croley, 31, of Englewood, was charged with first-degree misdemeanor OVI in connection with this incident.

THEFT: A theft of a motor vehicle was reported on the 600 block of West High Street at 11:59 p.m.

Feb. 27

HIT SKIP: A hit skip accident was reported at 12:30 a.m. on the 300 block of McKinley Avenue.
