April 24
TRAFFIC STOP: An officer conducted a traffic stop at approximately 7 p.m. on the 200 block of Kienle Drive. An adult male was arrested on a warrant and incarcerated. Joseph R. Young, 31, of Piqua, was picked up for first-degree misdemeanor theft. An adult female driver was cited for driving under suspension, and the registered owner was warned for wrongful entrustment.
THEFT: An officer was dispatched to a theft complaint in reference to several electronics stolen from the complainant on the 500 block of Boone Street. The items were stolen sometime between April 22-24.
April 25
DISORDERLY CONDUCT: An officer was dispatched to the 300 block of North Wayne Street for a neighbor complaint at approximately 9:45 a.m. A female advised the male who lives in the same building had been harassing her all week. Both subjects were warned for disorderly conduct. Crystal S. Litton, 40, of Piqua, was cited for minor misdemeanor disorderly conduct in connection with this incident.
DISTURBANCE: Officers were dispatched to a report of a disturbance at 2:15 p.m. on the 1100 block of Park Avenue. A male with a warrant was located and incarcerated. Victor L. Washington, 31, address unknown, was picked up for fifth-degree felony drug possession.
DISTURBANCE: There was a report of a domestic disturbance at the Piqua Village Apartments at approximately 3:15 p.m., after which the assailant reportedly took a victim’s vehicle without permission and fled the scene. Officers located the suspect — Michael A. Burch, 43, of Piqua — and the suspect got out of the vehicle and ran on foot in the area of Beverly Drive and West Grant Street. An officer chased the suspect and was able to take him into custody. Officers then uncovered suspected methamphetamine and marijuana on him. Burch was charged with fourth-degree felony failure to comply, fourth-degree felony domestic violence, first-degree misdemeanor unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, fifth-degree felony possession of drugs, minor misdemeanor possession of drugs, and fourth-degree misdemeanor criminal trespassing in connection with this incident.
April 26
TRAFFIC STOP: An officer stopped a vehicle for the driver having a suspended license at 7:20 p.m. on the 100 block of South College Street. The driver was found to be in possession of marijuana and a drug abuse instrument. Quentin B. Carter, 36, of Piqua, was charged with first-degree misdemeanor possession of a drug abuse instrument and minor misdemeanor possession of marijuana.
April 27
WARRANT: Nathan B. Towe, 40, of Piqua, responded to the Piqua Police Department to turn himself in for having a warrant for first-degree misdemeanor receiving stolen property at 1:30 p.m. He was transported to the county jail without incident.
April 28
CRIMINAL DAMAGE: There was a report of a female subject who threw a plate at a vehicle, which damaged the vehicle, at 2:30 a.m. on the 500 block of Harrison Street. Amanda S. Applegate, 29, of Piqua, was charged with second-degree misdemeanor criminal damaging.
DRUG OFFENSE: Zachary A. Harris, 22, of Piqua, and Ethan M. Lewis, 18, of Sidney, were charged with fifth-degree felony possession of drugs at 10 a.m. on the 1500 block of Covington Avenue.
April 29
DRUG OFFENSE: Officers were dispatched for an adult male who overdosed at 4:50 p.m. on the 100 block of Cleveland Street. He was given Narcan and revived. He was found to have a warrant, and marijuana was seized at the scene. Trenton M. Bates, 23, of Piqua, was picked up for fifth-degree felony possession of drugs, fourth-degree misdemeanor disorderly conduct, and minor misdemeanor possession of marijuana drug paraphernalia in connection with this incident. Cheyanne M. Wellman, 21, of Piqua, was also charged with fifth-degree felony possession of drugs and minor misdemeanor possession of marijuana drug paraphernalia in connection with this incident.
April 30
THEFT: A subject reportedly stole several hundred dollars worth of merchandise from Walmart between April 29-30. The subject was identified by police and charged on April 20. William T. Hall, 41, of Piqua, was charged with first-degree misdemeanor theft.
MISCONDUCT AT AN EMERGENCY: There was a report of a garage fire at approximately 7 p.m. on the 500 block of South Downing Street. Units responded, and the resident continued to attempt to go into the active fire after being told not to. Timothy A. Kirk, 54, of Piqua, was charged with fourth-degree misdemeanor misconduct at an emergency.
ROBBERY: Piqua police responded to a call where a juvenile had three pairs of tennis shoes valued at approximately $250 stolen at approximately 7:45 p.m. on the 400 block of Glenwood Avenue. According to Piqua police reports, the juvenile was trying to sell the shoes online on Snapshat when the juvenile was contacted by someone who wanted to buy the shoes. Later, when the juvenile was showing the buyer the shoes, the buyer took the shoes without paying and fled in a vehicle. The juvenile grabbed onto the vehicle, eventually falling off and injuring his foot. The suspect, Carl M. Johnson, 21, of Piqua, was later taken into custody and charged with second-degree felony robbery in connection with this incident. Johnson is currently being held in the Miami County Jail on $25,000 bond.
DRUG OFFENSE: There was a report of an adult male who overdosed in a hotel room at the Baymont Inn and Suites at approximately 8:15 p.m. He was administered Narcan to help revive him, and he was later transported to the hospital for an examination. Mathew G. Johnson, 37, of Piqua, was charged with first-degree misdemeanor possession of a drug abuse instrument in connection with this incident.
