True Life services, in person or online

TROY — Join True Life Community Church this Sunday for the May sermon series, “Because of You.” See what God is doing through you, with you, and because of you.

This May, the prayer focus will be on service organizations. Specifically, Partners In Hope, Family Abuse Center of Miami County, Lincoln Community Center, and First Place Food Pantry. Please join us as we pray for all who serve our community.

The community is always welcome; TLC will open its doors this Sunday with worship service starting at 10 a.m. Masks are now mandatory in Ohio and must be worn indoors. The service will also be live-streamed on Facebook.

First Lutheran holds services

TROY — First Lutheran Church of Troy is back to public worship and invites the community to weekly worship services on Sundays at 10 a.m.

AA-Open Group will be held at 6 a.m. on Mondays, and AA-Men’s Group will be held at 8:30 a.m. on Saturdays.

Food Drive-Thru Giveaway offered

PIQUA — The Transformed Life Church & Grace Family Worship Center will hold a Food Drive-Thru Giveaway Saturday, May 29 from 9:30 a.m. until all items are gone.

The giveaway will be held in the Transformed Life Church parking lot at 421 Wood St. in Piqua.

All are welcome to attend, and the giveaway is made possible through the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Farmers to Families food box program.

Victory Baptist Church to show “I Still Believe”

PIQUA — Victory Baptist Church will hold a special showing of the movie “I Still Believe” at 6:30 p.m. on June 25.

“I Still Believe is based on the real-life story of chart-topping singer Jeremy Camp. The showing is free and open to the public. For more information, contact 937-773-6469.

St. Patrick’s offers Loss of Spouse Seminar

TROY — The Loss of Spouse seminar is for people grieving a spouse’s death. It will be held at St. Patrick Parish Center, 444 E. Water St., Troy, upstairs in Room 3, on Saturday, June 19 from 10 a.m. to noon. The seminar features video interviews with counselors, grief experts, and widowed men and women. They offer helpful insights on:

• What to expect in the days to come

• How to deal with the loneliness

• What to do with your spouse’s belongings

• Why it won’t always hurt this much

And other practical help for dealing with the challenges of widowhood.

Everyone who attends will receive a booklet with over 30 short readings on how to live with grief and eventually rebuild your life.

Registration is not necessary and there is no cost.

The St. Patrick’s GriefShare Team will be in attendance to help answer questions and give their support.

Covington Christian Church announces annual Food for Children program

COVINGTON — Covington Christian Church is starting its seventh annual Food for Children program.

This is a summer lunch program designed for children 2 to 17 years of age. Children under the age of 4 must be accompanied by an adult. Each week the child will receive a meal at the park along with fun faith-based activities. All children in need will receive a bag of grocery items to take home for the rest of the week. Only children who attend will receive a grocery bag for that week.

This program is serving the Covington School District. Therefore, proof of address (utility bill, etc.) must be provided to register. Preregistration is preferred and available at church office Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. There will also be on-site registration available.

Piqua Association of Churches starts video updates

PIQUA — Piqua Association of Churches President Paul Green prepared a video in February that can be accessed by going to YouTube and typing “Piqua Association of Churches’ 1st video update” to watch.
