True Life services, in person or online

TROY — Join True Life Community Church this Sunday for the November sermon series, “Give till it Helps!” Everyone is called to build something lasting as God makes clear His plan for their future.

A Time to Pray will be held each Sunday at 9 a.m. on the TLC campus. Join the church as they pray for their church family and the local community.

A 24 hour Prayer Vigil will be held Saturday, Nov. 20 at 11 a.m. until Sunday, Nov. 21 at 11 a.m.

The church will also particiapte in Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child.

First Lutheran holds services

TROY — First Lutheran Church of Troy is back to public worship and invites the community to weekly worship services on Sundays at 10 a.m.

Booths available for craft show

Covington Church to serve meal

COVINGTON — The Covington Church of the Brethren, 101 N. Wall Street, will be serving their chicken and noodles and apple dumpings, carry-out only, on Saturday, Nov. 13, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. (or until sold out).

Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, there will be no indoor dining. Customers are asked to wear masks when entering, ordering, and paying for their carry-out items.

The chicken and noodles and apple dumplings will be sold hot and ready to eat, in single-serve, carry-out containers. Ice cream cups can be purchased as well.

Enter the church at 101 N. Wall Street and take the elevator down to the church kitchen, or go around the corner to enter the Wright Street door and take the stairway down.

Tipp City United Methodist Church to host blood drive

TIPP CITY — The Tipp City United Methodist Church community blood drive will be held Thursday, Nov. 18 from 1:30 to 7:30 p.m. at 8 West Main St., Tipp City.

Appointments for blood drives must be made at www.DonorTime.com or by calling 937-461-3220.

Donors are required to provide a photo ID that includes their full name. Past CBC donors also are asked to bring their CBC donor ID card.

Donors must be at least 17 years of age, or 16 years old with parental consent, weigh a minimum of 110 pounds and be in good physical health. The Food and Drug Administration changes blood donor eligibility guidelines periodically.

Singers wanted for church choir

WEST MILTON — Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in West Milton is inviting singers to sing in their Christmas Choir.

After a year off, they will present their annual “Sounds of Christmas” concert on Friday, Dec. 17 at 7 p.m. The concert will be performed in the sanctuary of the church at 1209 S. Miami St. High School through adult ages are welcome. The community is invited to enjoy a wide variety of Christmas music.

Practices are at noon on Sundays, after worship service. Anyone attending another church is asked to come after their service.

Church Bazaar Planned

COVINGTON — St. Teresa of the Infant Jesus Catholic Church, 6925 W. US Route 36, Covington, will be hosting their annual Bazaar on Saturday, Nov. 13, from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. There will be many crafters and vendors, a raffle for a handmade quilt and many other items, and homemade baked goods.

Annual St. Boniface Cabbage Roll / Heritage Bread Sale

PIQUA — St. Boniface Parish is taking orders through Nov.15 for its Oktoberfest Cabbage Rolls and Heritage Breads. The home-made, pork cabbage rolls are oven and freezer ready and can be purchased in pans of 1 to 12 cabbage rolls; all sizes include a sauerkraut/tomato mixture and baking directions.

Fifteen-plus different breads made from the parish’s Heritage Festival Bread Booth recipes are available as well. Church to hold Quilt Raffle, Open House

TROY — The First United Church of Christ will hold a quilt raffle on Dec. 12 following their 10:30 a.m. worship service.

Tickets can be purchased at the church’s open house on Nov. 14 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The proceeds from the raffle will go to benefit various church outreach programs such as the Backpack Program and Holiday Outreach.

Free Community Thanksgiving Dinner

COVINGTON — The Covington Eagles and Fields of Grace Worship Center will provide a free all-community Thanksgiving dinner on Saturday, Nov. 20. This year they will be providing 1,500 meals.

Meals are restricted to home delivery only. No dine-in options will be available.

The meal this year will consist of turkey, homemade mashed potatoes, gravy, homemade dressing, homemade noodles, green beans, dinner roll and pumpkin pie.

Home deliveries will be made to surrounding communities within a ten mile radius between the hours of 4 and 6 p.m. Meals can be reserved by calling Fields of Grace at 937-573-4282, Tuesday through Thursday 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. until Thursday, Nov. 18. No calls will be taken the day of the meal or at the Eagles.
