God’s Table to offer Christmas meal

PIQUA — God’s Table will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 18. A traditional Christmas meal of ham, sweet potatoes, green beans, a roll and dessert will be served. God’s Table will be held at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 325 W. Ash St. ,Piqua. God’s table is a free-of-charge meal served the third Saturday of the month.

TROY — Join True Life Community Church this Sunday for the December sermon series, “Special Delivery.” The Church and congregation will track the coming Messiah through the absolute truth of God’s word this Christmas season.

First Lutheran holds services

TROY — First Lutheran Church of Troy is back to public worship and invites the community to weekly worship services on Sundays at 10 a.m.

Bethel United Methodist Church service

PIQUA — Bethel United Methodist Church will hold their Sunday service at 7 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 19 at 2505 E. Loy Rd, Piqua.

Hear how the prophecies of the Old Testament were fulfilled through a special reading of the Christmas story during their annual Candlelight Service. The service will conclude as the church is lit up with Christ’s love through candlelight and music.

Following the service there will be refreshments and fellowship with celebration for the Christmas season.

Blood drive set for Dec. 22

TROY — Two area churches will hold blood drives on Wednesday, Dec. 22.

The First Presbyterian Church of Troy community blood drive will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. at 20 S. Walnut St., Troy.

The Troy Church of the Brethren community blood drive will be held from 1 to 7 p.m. at 1431 W. Main St., Troy.

Everyone who registers to donate will get the “Be a Hometown Hero This Holiday” fleece blanket with CBC blood drop logo. Appointments are encouraged. Schedule online at www.DonorTime.com or call (937) 461-3220.

The holiday season is an important time to donate. Many businesses and organizations are not hosting blood drives due to continued COVID-19 related restrictions and people are often distracted from donating during this busy time of holiday activities and travel.

The season of giving is a good time to give back. CBC asks community members to consider becoming a blood donor, donating more often, becoming a platelet or plasma donor, or sponsoring a blood drive. Call (937) 461-3220 to learn how you can help.

Church to hold Candelight service

PLEASANT HILL — First Brethren Church will hold their Christmas Eve Candlelight Service at 7:15 p.m. Step back to the candle-lit manger for singing and worshiping the Lord Jesus.

St. John’s Lutheran Church announces Christmas Eve services

PIQUA — St. John’s Lutheran Church will hold Christmas Eve Candlelight Worship services at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m.

Fifteen minutes prior to each service time there will be pre-service organ and piano music including piano/organ duets. There will also be Holy Communion at both worship services. Social distancing is practiced. Masks are welcome, but optional.

St. Paul’s Church holding Christmas Eve service

PIQUA — Everyone is invited to St. Paul’s Church for its Christmas Eve Service that begins at 7 p.m. Little ones can wear their PJ’s and are invited up front for a bedtime Christmas story read by Dr. Keith Gebhart. Music Minister Jason Townsend and Organist Jane Ann Vest collaborate to provide the music that the community has come to expect, many of your traditional favorites will be played, and of course the service will be completed with the candlelight singing of Silent Night.

St. Paul’s Church, a Protestant church, located at 500 N. Downing Street in Piqua Ohio, has just completed a full year of celebration honoring its 175th anniversary.

If you are looking for a church family, its Adult Sunday School starts at 9 a.m., Children’s Sunday School at 9:30 a.m., nursery is provided for children four years of age and younger during church service, which starts at 10:15 a.m. Its services can be viewed on a one-week delay on Channel 5 and can be watched live by going to its website at St.paulspiqua.org and click on Media.
