Information provided by the Miami County Public Health Department.

Sept. 20

• Starbucks Coffee Company, 1914 W Main St., Troy — Standard inspection.

Repeat: Facility not maintained clean. Floors throughout the facility were observed with food debris and spills.

Comments: Floors throughout the facility are in need of a deep cleaning.

• Old Mason Winery and Vineyard, Inc., 4199 S Iddings Rd., West Milton — Standard inspection.

No violations were documented at the time of inspection.

Sept. 21

• Sunoco Food Mart, 4455 Gibson Dr., Tipp City — Standard inspection.

Corrected during inspection; critical; repeat: Handwashing sink not accessible. The hand sink was observed with personal dishware being stored in the hand sink making it inaccessible for convenient use. Upon informing the PIC, the dishware was removed from the hand sink.

Comments: Overall, the facility was in good standing and operation at the time of inspection.

A new hot dog roller grill unit was observed, but not in use. The unit is approved commercial grade and has been approved for use within the Retail Food Establishment (RFE).

• West Milton Stop & Go, 1046 S Miami St. , West Milton — Standard inspection.

Repeat: Facility does not have an employee with manager certification in food protection.

Repeat: Utensils and equipment contacting non-TCS foods not cleaned at requried frequency. The nozzles to the slushie machines were observed with a build-up of excessive residue. Clean the nozzles to prevent these sort of accumulations.

Repeat: Unapproved pesticide being used. Spray canisters of Raid were observed. Remove these unapproved pesticides from the premises.

Repeat: Presence of dead pests or insects. Dead insects were observed in the light shield in the restroom. Old mouse droppings were observed in the back storage room. Clean using wet methods to remove from the facility.

Repeat: Outer openings not protected. The front doors to establishment were observed with a large gap between the two entry way doors. Eliminate the gap to prevent the potential entry of pests.

Fixed equipment not properly sealed or spaced for cleaning. Around the lines in the back storage room, large gaps were observed present. Seal to ensure for proper cleaning.

Warewashing sink not properly cleaned and sanitized. The 3-compartment sink was observed unclean to sight and touch at the time of inspection. Ensure the 3-bay sink is being cleaned as often as necessary to keep it clean.

Repeat: Non-food contact surfaces of equipment are unclean. The unused pizza prep unit was observed dirty on the inside with debris and residual build-ups. Clean the inside of the unit.

Repeat: Facility not maintained clean. The floors and walls throughout were observed dirty to sight and touch with build-ups of dust, dirt, debris and residues. Enhance the frequency of cleaning throughout the retail food establishment.

Comments: At the time of inspection, old mouse droppings were observed in the back storage room area. The PIC was shown the area where droppings were observed and a photo was taken to show the pest control company.

Work with pest control to prevent a further or future issue from arising. Clean the affected areas shown using wet cleaning methods only.

The facility was in need of a deep and thorough cleaning throughout.

• Arbogast Buick Pontiac GMC, Inc., 3540 S. Co. Rd. 25A, Troy — Standard/Critical Control Point Inspection.

Corrected during inspection; critical; repeat: TCS foods not being cold held at the proper temperature. In the sliding door cooler, observed pre-portioned cottage cheese and macaroni salad containers holding between 45-46 degrees F. The PIC decided to voluntarily pull and discard these items holding above 41F at the time of inspection.

Corrected during inspection; critical: Ready-to-eat, TCS food not properly discarded when required. In the bottom portion of the prep cooler, a bag of spinach was date marked with a disposition date of 9/20. Upon informing the PIC, the spinach was voluntarily pulled and discarded.

Corrected during inspection; critical; repeat: Refrigerated, ready-to-eat, TCS foods not properly date marked. In the top portion of the prep cooler, previously opened hash browns were observed without a date mark. Upon informing the PIC, the hash browns were properly dated.

Comments related to the Critical Control Point Inspections:

TCS Food: Refrigerated, ready-to-eat, TCS foods held refrigerated for more than 24 hours were not properly date marked.

TCS Food: TCS foods were not being held at the proper temperature.

TCS Food: Ready-to-eat, TCS food that had been date marked was not properly discarded when required.

Positive: Preventing Contamination by Hands: Hand washing facilities are properly supplied.

Positive: Demonstration of Knowledge: The person in charge is Certified in Food Protection.
