PIQUA – Join Piqua in watching the city of Piqua’s New Year’s Eve Firework Show. The “extraordinary firework display” starts at midnight on Friday, Dec. 31.
This event was started last year and was successful. Since it was such a successful event, the city of Piqua decided to host the firework show again. They plan to make it an annual event.
“We are very excited to ring in the new year with our community by providing this firework display,” Brittany Van Horn, Piqua Public Relations coordinator said. “This event has brought an abundance of joy to our community, and we are hopeful to make this a new tradition in Piqua.”
The fireworks should be viewable from most homes in Piqua since the fireworks will be shot off on the northeast range of town. If you can’t see the fireworks from your home, you can watch a live video of the firework display on the city of Piqua’s Facebook page. Other locations to watch the fireworks include the Miami Valley Centre Mall and the Great Miami Riverway.
According to Van Horn, American Fireworks will be launching test fireworks at 9 p.m., 10 p.m., and 11 p.m. for the community to determine if they are viewable from your location or to find the best viewing area.
