KETTERING — The Troy boys basketball team struggled in a 68-34 loss to Fairmont at Trent Arena Thursday night.

Troy dropped to 3-4 on the season with the loss.

Fairmont led 19-9, 36-15 and 51-26 at the quarter breaks.

GIRLS

Miami East 32,

Versailles 29.

CASSTOWN — Miami East girls basketball team improved to 6-4 with the win.

The Vikings led 9-6, 22-14 and 25-21 at the quarter breaks.

McKayah Musselman had eight points and five rebounds and Paxton Hunley scored eight points.

Camryn Francis added six points and Kayly Fetters had three steals.

SIDNEY — The Covington wrestling team defeated Sidney and Allen East Thursday night.

Covington defeated Allen East 47-27.

Carson Taylor (106) pinned Aizik Meyers, followed Michael Hagan’s (113) pin over Tyler Sherard. Jericho Quinter (120) then pinned district qualifier Hunter Sidle, before Brian Morrison (126) and Kaden Thompson (132) picked up forfeits.

Chase Vanderhorst (138) then pinned Anthony Earl. Allen East rebounded as Jacob Pinks pinned Jackson Shiverdecker (144) and state qualifier Kade Wireman won a tight 6-3 victory over Caleb Miller (150).

Connor Sindelir (157) then earned a 15-0 technical fall over district qualifier Trenten Gatchell, before Allen East’s Chase Miller picked up a forfeit at 165.

Izaiah Sherman (175) earned a 9-2 decision over state alternate Gage Wireman, followed by Jensen Wagoner’s (190) 3-2 victory over district qualifier Brogan Paxson. Allen East then picked up the last two victories as Hayden Barker (215) fell to state qualifier Alek Winner, and Eli Criblez earned a forfeit.

Covington defeated Sidney 66-12.

Carson Taylor (106) pinned Elijah McKenzie, Michael Hagan (113) pinned Joelon Lyons and Jericho Quinter (120) pinned Chanier Bladen, before Brian Morrison (126) fell to Brian Barrett. Chase Vanderhorst (132) then pinned Keyon Barger, Aveyen Meek (138) pinned Brandt McClain and Jackson Shiverdecker (144) pinned Ivan Spencer, before Caleb Miller (150) earned a 15-4 major decision over Relax Winals.

Connor Sindelir (157) then pinned Brice Hughes, A.J. Garman (165) earned a forfeit, Izaiah Sherman (175) earned a 16-1 technical fall over Wyatt Biddle and Jensen Wagoner (190) pinned Eli Biddle. Covington’s Haydan Barker (215) and Sidney’s Hayden Cotrell (285) then earned forfeits to conclude the dual.

Luke Brown and Zeb Woodward-Roeth picked up pins in JV action.
