Tippecanoe girls golf tops Piqua; Bethel drops road match with Riverside; Troy, Milton-Union sweep tennis matches

PIQUA — The Tippecanoe golf team defeated Piqua 196-223 on the front nine at Echo Hills Wednesday morning.

Piqua’s Kenzi Anderson was match medalist with a 40.

Tippecanoe was led by Olivia Kruesch and Katelin Smith with 47.

Other Red Devils scores were Abigail Poston 48, Annaleigh Lambert 54, Delaney Decamp 61 and Char Walters 67.

Other Indian scores were Ivy Lee 57, Aubree Carroll 62, Carsyn Meckstroth 64, Brooklyn Shaner 68 and Marin Funderburg 71.

Tipp, 2-0, will host Xenia Thursday at Cassel Hills.

BELLEFONTAINE — The Bethel girls golf team lost a TRC match with Riverside 210-215 Wednesday at Cherokee Hills Golf Course.

Kerigan Calhoun led Bethel with a 48.

Other Lady Bee scores were Grace Bennett 52, Kaylee Brookhart 54, Aly Bird 61, Paige Kearns 62 and Abby Stratton 69.

Troy girls

get 5-0 win

TROY — The Troy girls tennis team defeated Beavercreek B 5-0 Wednesday.

“The singles players all played consistent tennis in their wins,” Troy tennis coach Mark Goldner said. “The doubles teams showed a lot of fight in earning their wins. Madailein Logan and Taima Rajab were down 4-1 in the third set and came back to win 7-6.”

In singles, Elizabeth Niemi defeated Shank Gunasekera 6-0, 6-1; Esha Patel defeated Nicole Yamada 6-1, 6-1 and Josie Romick defeated Corinna Green 6-4, 6-0.

In doubles, Logan Rajab defeated Abby Hann and Ava Kahlig 6-3, 4-6, 7-6 (5) and Casey Rogers and Mio Yasuda defeated Jenny Krimm and Alby Cline 7-6 (9), 6-3.

Milton tops

Cedarville

WEST MILTON — The Milton-Union girls tennis team improved to 2-0 with a 5-0 win over Cedarville Wednesday.

In singles, Shannon Brumbaugh won 6-2, 6-1; Taylor Falb won 6-0, 6-0; and Ellie Coate won 6-0, 6-0.

In doubles, Paige Barnes and Avalynn Barton won 6-2, 6-1 and Corinne Tierman and Maggie Black won 6-0, 6-0.
