Wood Carving for Beginners

Dive into the basics of the timeless art of wood carving in a four-week class. This class begins on Thursday, April 4, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The cost is $30 for Tipp City residents and $32 for non-residents. All supplies are provided, including tools and safety gloves.

Expert instructors will guide participants ages 12 and up through hands-on sessions learning a stylized owl. The Tippecanoe Carving Club sponsors this class which will be taught by instructors Don Worley and Bruce Hend at the Tipp City Senior Center. Registration is required.

Paint Like Bob Ross

TMCS offers a painting class taught by Samantha Graybill. The class meets on Saturday, April 6, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The cost is $60 for Tipp City and Monroe Township residents and $62 for non-residents. An additional $25 supply fee is paid directly to the instructor.

Each participant will complete a 16×20-inch painting of a barn. Graybill will instruct the class using the wet-on-wet oil techniques used by Bob Ross. This is a one-day class for ages 18 and older located at the Broadway Elementary School. Registration is required.

Learn how to paint a funny ostrich

TMCS is offering a painting class for ages six and up on Tuesday, April 9, from 4 to 5:30 p.m. The cost is $25 for Tipp City and Monroe Township residents and $27 for non-residents. There is an additional $8 supply fee paid directly to the instructor.

Students will be guided by Samantha Graybill on how to paint funny ostriches. The class will meet at the Tipp Center located at 855 N. Third St. Graybill said all students will paint the same painting but will be taught correct painting methods and given the freedom to do it their way.

Adult Paint Party

TMCS and Graybill are teaming up to offer a paint party for ages 18 and up. The class meets on Tuesday, April 9 from 6 to 8 p.m. for $25 for Tipp City and Monroe Township residents and $29 for non-residents. An additional $15 supply fee is paid directly to the instructor. The class is at the Tipp Center. Registration is required.

Prescription Drug Saving Secrets

Navigating Medicare options can be confusing. Learn tactics to minimize drug costs and get the right drug coverage by attending Prescription Drug Saving Secrets, taught by Kate Johnsen from the Medicare Resource Center. The class is on Thursday, April 18, from 5 to 6 p.m. at the Tipp City Public Library. There is no charge to attend, but registration is required.

Make a Tote Bag Sewing Class

TMCS is offering a sewing class for ages 12 and up on Thursday, April 18, from 6 to 9 p.m. The class will meet at the TMCS building and will cost $35 for Tipp City residents and $37 for non-residents.

Debbie Snider from the Honey Creek Quilt Shop will provide hands-on instruction on how to sew a reusable tote bag and review basic sewing knowledge and machine parts. Registration is required.

Board of Trustees Meeting

TMCS will hold its next monthly Board of Trustees Meeting on Thursday, April 18, at 6:30 pm. The meeting will be held at the Tipp City Senior Center at 528 N. Hyatt St. The public is welcome to attend.

Tipp Monroe Community Services is a local nonprofit organization responsible for identifying and filling the needs of Tipp City and Monroe Township residents.
