TMCS, Schroeder Tennis Center partner for all-ages tennis classes

TIPP CITY — Tipp Monroe Community Services is teaming up with Schroeder Tennis Center to offer a series of beginner tennis classes this winter/spring.

Participants will learn basic tennis fundamentals in a fun and active environment. Tennis is a great sport with a lot of physical and mental benefits.

This is a special introductory offer for anyone registering through TMCS. These classes are for beginners or players with limited experience. Classes are five-weeks long and are taught by certified professional tennis instructors. Start dates, start times and prices vary according to age group. Register and pay online at www.tmcomservices.org. The following classes are available:

Tennis Tigers (ages 6-7). Professionals will work with these youngsters to develop basic tennis skills and improve hand/eye coordination. Tennis Tigers classes begin Feb. 18, 10:30-11:30 a.m. and lasts five weeks. Cost: $79 for Tipp City and Moroe Township residents and $81 for non-residents.

Future Champs (ages 8-10) Professionals will introduce basic tennis skills to young players: forehand, backhand, serve, volley and court movement. Begins Feb. 17, 4:30-5:30 a.m. Cost: $85 for residents and $87 non-residents. Another session of Future Champs begins Feb. 18, 12:30-1:30 p.m. for the same price.

Junior Rec (ages 11-15) This beginner class is for older youth just discovering how fun tennis can be. Professionals will teach forehand, backhand, serve, volley and court movement. This calss begins Feb. 18, 1-2 p.m. and costs $91 for residents and $93 for non-residents.

USA123 Adult Beginner Class (ages 18+). Professionals will teach basic tennis fundamentals. This class begins Feb. 17, 6-7 p.m. and costs $69 for residents and $71 for non-residents.
