TROY — During its March meeting, The Troy Foundation approved grants totaling $277,220.33 to 23 organizations. The grants will be used in support of the foundation’s mission to improve the quality of life for our community by connecting donors to charitable causes for a better tomorrow. Grants were awarded from the goundation’s General Fund and from funds administered by the fFoundation to support specific fields of interest of our donors.
General Fund Grants:
• Troy Church of the Brethren, $2,000 in support of a Laundry Outreach Program to assist those in need of laundry services.
• Mid-West Ohio Chapter of CISV’s Passport Village youth camp was awarded $2,900, contingent upon the program hosting the event.
• Goodwill Easter Seals Miami Valley will provide art wellness sessions for their participants in their adult day support program. A grant in the amount of $5,040 was awarded for this purpose.
• Reading for Change was awarded $7,190 for literacy curriculum and supplies, for the literacy tutoring program and the summer program.
• We Love Birthday Parties will provide birthday boxes to foster care children with a grant of $7,200.
• Miami County Local Food Council. The Troy Downtown Farmers Market, which provides an avenue for local farmers, producers and artisans to make their products available to Troy residents each week will operate using a grant in the amount of $7,250.
• Dream Builders Group, Inc. was awarded $8,700 for the Clubhouse Internship to oversee student volunteers and programming for Clubhouse participants.
• City of Troy, Ohio received $12,000 toward the July 4th fireworks celebration.
• Miami County Agricultural Society was awarded $10,000 toward the 2020 Miami County Fair Concert.
• Miami County Visitors Bureau will utilize a $10,000 towards the Donut Jam, Tour de Donut event.
• City of Troy, Ohio was awarded $14,500 in support of the Great Ohio Bicycle Adventure, is contingent upon the event taking place.
• RT Industries, Inc. was awarded $15,000 for the purchase of a transportation outing software system to provide the most cost effective and timely services.
• Miami County Continuum of Care was awarded $27,000 for the Continuum of Care to sustain current services and to implement additional solutions to improve the lives of individuals and families through the Rides to Work program.
• Joshua Recovery Ministries, Inc. was awarded $20,000 for operation support for recovery at the Troy location.
• Partners in Hope, The Troy Rec, and Lincoln Community Center have received $27,700 for the Summer Lunch Program. This collaborative effort amongst these organizations will provide lunch for children in need during the summer months. Lunch sites include Garden Manor, Lincoln Community Center, Troy Rec and this year, the Staunton Commons has been added as a site.
• Partners in Hope, Inc. received $30,000 for education and development programs with wrap-around services for clients.
• Miami County Recovery Council, Inc. was awarded $40,000 toward the opiate epidemic support.

• Isaiah’s Place, Inc. was awarded $756.33 to purchase music therapy tools to support healing activities for children in foster homes.
From David B. and Helen N. Meeker Fund ($2,672) and the General Fund ($328)
Upper Miami Valley Young Life was awarded $3,000 for a summer camp trip that provides kids a week long experience to make a positive difference in the world. This grant is contingent upon the trip occurring.
From the Richard Shellenbarger Music Fund
• Troy Mayor’s Concerts, Inc. was awarded $5,000 for the 2020 concert featuring the Dayton Philharmonic Concert Band and Chorus.
From the General Fund ($3,350), Ruth Hollinger and J. Cameron Dungan Fund ($1,293), and the Lafferty Family Fund ($707)
• Troy Main Street was awarded $7,190 for the Downtown Flower Planter Program for the downtown merchants, downtown walking maps to distribute to residents and visitors, and a historical walking map listing the historical buildings and descriptions.

• Troy Community Works was awarded $7,500 for the Troy Community Works Day, a collaborated effort of organizations and volunteers helping neighbors with beautifications project.

• Eagles’ Wings Stable, Inc. was awarded $11,760 for the student gap fund for equine assisted therapies and learning, grant is contingent upon classes restarting.
