Troy pole vaulter Sophie Fong soars to new heights

Troy High School senior pole vaulter Sophie Fong continues to have an outstanding indoor season this winter.

She won the Ohio State High School Indoor meet last weekend with a new PR of 12-4.

That is a new school indoor record and also matches the outdoor school record.

Fong is currently ranked second in the state in Division I.

Troy has a number of other athletes closing in on qualifying for the state indoor meet.

The top 40 athletes can enter the indoor state meet but only the top 24 athletes that enter can complete.

Other Troy athletes in or near the top 40 of their events in Division 1 in Ohio include:

Alyssa Kern is currently ranked 31st in the state in girls pole vault (9-6).

Ethan Martin is currently ranked 21st in the state for boys pole vault (12-6). Ethan PR’d by a foot and a half at Ohio State last weekend.

Kaylee Ludy is currently ranked 10th in the girls high jump (5-0).

Alexis Caplinger is currently ranked 41st in the girls shot put (31-11).

Alexis has placed in every indoor meet she has participated in this winter season.

Hannah Duff is currently ranked 15th in the girls triple jump (30-6.75) and ranked 41st in the girls pole vault (9-0).

Brooke Craft is currently ranked 25th in the girls triple jump (28-0).
