Feb. 4
TRAFFIC: An officer stopped a vehicle in the parking lot of Kroger and issued the driver a citation for driving under suspension at 9 a.m. Owner of the vehicle was cited for wrongful entrustment.
ACCIDENT: Police responded to the intersection of West Main Street at North Kings Chapel Drive in reference to a two-vehicle, non-injury accident at 2:42 p.m. Upon further investigation, one male operator was given a warning for reasonable control due to the weather and heavy snow in the roadway. Case closed.
DISORDERLY: While on patrol, an officer was dispatched to a menacing complaint on the 100 block of South Union Street at 3:41 p.m. Report was taken.
TRAFFIC: A traffic stop was initiated in the area of West Main Street and the southbound on-ramp to Interstate-75 at 9:21 p.m. An adult male was issued a citation and arrested on an active warrant through Champaign County. Report completed.
TRAFFIC: Traffic stop was attempted, but the vehicle fled in the area of West Main Street and North Dorset Road at 11:14 p.m. Pursuit was terminated. Ongoing investigation.
Feb. 5
TRAFFIC: An officer initiated a traffic stop in the area of West Main Street and Cedar Street at 4:50 a.m. The driver was cited for a traffic control devices violation.
TRAFFIC: An officer stopped a vehicle on Staunton Road near Maplecrest Drive at 9 a.m. Driver was found to be suspended, and vehicle was towed. Drug paraphernalia was seized.
TRANSPORT: Male transported from Miami County Jail to Tri County Jail at 9:29 a.m.
SEX OFFENSE: An officer spoke with a subject in reference to a sex offense report. Report taken.
THEFT: At approximately 12:43 p.m., an officer was dispatched to Walmart, 1801 W. Main St., in reference to a theft. Report taken.
ACCIDENT: There was a report of an accident with injuries on the West Main Street overpass at 1:15 p.m.
TRAFFIC: An officer stopped a vehicle for a traffic offense in the area of McKaig Avenue and Crescent Drive at 4:30 p.m. The officer issued a summons for the passenger and driver for drugs. Alissa A. Sturgeon, 30, of Piqua, was cited for possession of controlled substances and minor misdemeanor possession of marijuana in connection with this incident. Joshua A. Mowery, 33, of Piqua, was cited for minor misdemeanor possession of marijuana and minor misdemeanor drug paraphernalia in connection with this incident.
TRAFFIC: An officer stopped a vehicle for a traffic offense and cited the driver for expired plates on the 1100 block of West Main Street at 8 p.m.
TRAFFIC: An officer initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle for a marked lanes violation on West Main Street near Cherry Street at 8 p.m. The operator of the vehicle was cited for a marked lanes violation. Case closed.
OVI: An officer stopped a vehicle for a traffic offense and arrested the driver for OVI at 9:19 p.m. on the 1200 block of Experiment Farm Road. Christopher D. Clements, 34, of Piqua, was charged with first-degree misdemeanor OVI-refusal with prior conviction and fourth-degree felony driving while under the influence in connection with this incident.
Feb. 6
WARRANT: Police responded to the area of the 200 block of Elmwood Drive for a report of a CPO violation. An adult male was arrested on multiple warrants, as well as CPO violation. Jesse E. Mercado, 34, of Troy, was picked up on first-degree misdemeanor violation of a protection order, first-degree felony aggravated burglary, fifth-degree felony breaking and entering, first-degree misdemeanor assault, and first-degree misdemeanor theft.
OVI: An officer initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of West Main Street and South Dorset Road at 2:16 a.m. The driver, Misty R. Gibson, 32, of Piqua, was arrested and cited for OVI and a marked lanes violation. She was then released to a sober/valid driver.
TRAFFIC: Troy officers responded to assist a vehicle that slid off of the roadway in the area of East State Route 55 and South State Route 202 at 3:25 a.m. The driver did not have a valid license. A citation was issued.
TRAFFIC: An officer stopped a vehicle on Henley Road at 11 a.m. and issued the driver a citation for driving under suspension.
TRAFFIC: An officer stopped a vehicle for speed at Dorset Road and Burch Court at 11:35 a.m. A citation was issued.
ACCIDENT: An accident with no injuries was reported in the area of Troy Town Drive and West Main Street at 1:09 p.m.
THEFT: An officer was dispatched to the 200 block of West Dakota Street on a report of a theft at 1:48 p.m.
THEFT: Officers were dispatched to Walmart due to a theft complaint at 4:36 p.m. A report was taken, and officers are investigating.
TRAFFIC: initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle for speeding on East Staunton Road near Meadow Lane at 5:49 p.m. The operator of the vehicle was cited for speeding. Case closed.
TRAFFIC: An officer stopped a vehicle due to the driver having a suspended license at West Main Street and Corporate Drive at 11:56 p.m. She was issued a citation for the violation.
