To the Editor:
I am writing to encourage the citizens of Piqua to vote in favor of the street levy renewal. Safe and well maintained streets are the lifeblood of our city. They are the means by which we get to and from work and the manner in which we deliver and receive the goods and services that drive our economy. To fail to maintain them adequately would have important negative consequences for our city, our citizens and our businesses.
It is important to understand that voting in favor of the renewal levy does not in
crease taxes. Additionally, the city of Piqua leverages these tax dollars to access millions of dollars of federal funding. Failure to renew the levy would mean we
would no longer get access to these federal dollars.
Vote for Piqua’s future and vote to renew the street levy.
