SPRINGFIELD — Troy’s Henry Johnston was named to the all-tournament team Tuesday at Reid Park, leading the Troy boys golf team to a fifth-place finish.

The Trojans shot a 342.

“I was really pleased with that score,” Troy coach Mark Evilsizor said. “We play the sectionals here in a couple weeks and 342 will get us to district. That gets out every year. We are still looking for that fourth score, but I was really pleased with our play today. Tippecanoe only beat us by two shots.”

Johnston carded a 77 to finish second overall.

“That was a great round by Henry (Johnston),” Evilsizor said. “That is his career low at Reid Park. We improved by 27 shots from Saturday, when we played here. So, that is quite an improvement. Bryce (Massingill) just missed making the all-tournament team.”

Massingill carded an 81.

Other Troy scores were Brayden Schwartz 88, John Kneisley 96 and Luke Huber 100.

TIPP CITY — The Milton-Union boys golf team picked up a TRC win Wednesday.

Nathan Thompson was medalist with 39 for Milton-Union, 11-2.

Other Bulldog scorers were Colin Fogle 41, Grady Vechazone 45 and Tyler Leffew 51.

Miami East scorers were Colin Jennings 40, Fletcher Harris 45, Eric LeMaster 49 and Nathan Woolley 58.

In singles, Elizabeth Niemi defeated Izzy King 6-2, 6-1; Esha Patel defeated Diya Patel 6-0, 6-1 and Josie Romick defeated Lauren Hicks 6-2, 6-0.

In doubles, Madailein Logan and Taima Rajab defeated Grace and Hannah Pleasant 6-2, 6-1 and Olivia Johnston and Casey Rogers defeated Nataya Yaqub and Sierra Leonard 6-7 (5), 6-2, 1-0 (6).

GREENVILLE — The Milton-Union girls tennis team swept Greenville Wednesday to improve to 7-3.

In singles, Shannon Brumbaugh won 6-0, 6-0; Taylor Falb won 6-0, 6-0 and Milton won third singles by forfeit.

In doubles, Paige Barnes and Ellie Coate won 6-0, 6-4 and Milton won second doubles by default.

JAMESTOWN — Lehman girls tennis made a long road trip worth it with a 5-1 win over Greeneview Wednesday to improve to 6-2 on the season.

“It is a nice bounce back win after a loss the previous night,” Lehman coach Tim Ungericht said. “Taylor (Reineke) had lost of long games and was more steady tonight. Lilly (Williams) moved up to second singles and won easily and Elizabeth Jock stepped up and played really well.

“Both doubles teams dominated. It is our most wins in a season in eight years. It is a big accomplishment for our team and has been a total team effort.”

In singles, Reineke lost 6-1, 6-0; Williams won 6-1, 6-0 and Jock won 6-3, 6-2.

In doubles, Annie Stiver and Macie Verdier won 6-0, 6-0 and Emma Covault and Madi Gleason won 6-0, 6-0.
