A worker from Stedman Floor covering installs carpet at the Johnston Farm house last week as a more than two year renovating project that will bring the 18th century home built by Col. John Johnston, back to near it original form. Many of the items, including mantles and doors are original to the property. After much research to determine what the floor and wall coverings were in the early 1800s, the new carpet and wallpaper are as authentic to the original home as possible. The John Johnston Farm & Indian Agency will be hosting an open house on July 9 to allow guests to four the renovated Johnston family home.
