TROY — The Miami County Board of Commissioners on Tuesday authorized contract negotiations for professional design and engineering services for the 2021 Miami County Bridge Package.

According to Miami County Engineer Paul Huelskamp, negotiations will be with LJB Inc., a civil and structural engineering company. Bridges included in the package are located on Peterson Road, Loy Road, Sugar Grove Circle Hill Road, and Hill Road.

Following negotiations for a total price, the formal contract will be brought to the board for final approval, Huelskamp said.

In other business Tuesday, commissioners:

• Authorized a contract with Garmann Miller architects and engineers, of Minster, for professional design, project management and engineering services for the courthouse stone patch replacement project.

• Authorized and signed employee requisitions for eligibility referral specialist for Job & Family Services; and seasonal worker for facilities and operations.

• Verified employment of Debra Enochs, who is returning to her position of financial account clerk part-time until a permanent replacement is found. Enochs originally retired in October 2020.

• Entered into executive session to discuss employee discipline, and to complete manager evaluations.

The next regular meeting of commissioners is scheduled for 1 p.m. Thursday.
