Edison State hoop teams sweep Glen Oaks

PIQUA — The Edison State Community College men’s and women’s basketball teams will host Clark State Wednesday, with the women’s game starting things at 5:30 p.m.

MEN

The Edison State men improved to 6-5 with an 80-59 win over Glen Oaks Monday night.

No further information on the game was available at press time.

Edison was coming off a 112-73 loss to Bryant & Stratton on Saturday.

The Chargers trailed just 47-42 at halftime.

Tywan Hall had 26 points, nine rebounds and five steals.

Jesse Dixon had 11 points and eight rebounds and Jordan Howard scored nine points.

Elias Richardson had six points and six rebounds, Jakob Reed had five points and three assists and Jaydon Litten added five points.

WOMEN

The Edison State women avenged an early-season loss to Glen Oaks Monday, winning 73-69 to improve to 9-2.

The Chargers trailed 16-15 after one quarter, but pulled even at 34 at halftime.

Edison took a 58-54 lead after three quarters and held on for the win.

Paxton Hunley had a big game with 23 points, six rebounds, seven assists and three steals.

Ella Hoehne had a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds and added four assists and four steals.

Makenzee Maschino had 10 points and three assists and Rori Hunley scored 10 points.

Matea Bartel had six points, 13 reblounds, seven assists and four steals and Taj Pewett had six points and three assists.

On Saturday, Edison cruised to an 83-47 win over Bryant & Stratton.

Edison led 20-11, 36-21 and 62-31 at the quarter breaks.

Bartel had 18 points and 15 rebounds and Maschino had 14 points and 13 rebounds.

Rori Hunley had 14 points, seven rebounds and three assists and Paxton Hunley had 11 points and three steals.

Hoehne had another double-double with 12 points and 13 rebounds and Pewett added nine points, 13 rebounds and four assists.
