PIQUA — The Edison State men’s basketball team won a thriller over Miami University-Middletown Thursday night.
The Chargers improved to 8-6 on the season and will host Ohio University-Lancaster at 7:30 p.m. on Jan. 4.
Edison State trailed 45-37 at halftime, before rallying with a 54-point second half to get the win.
Jesse Dixon had a big game for the Chargers with 28 points, six rebounds, four assists and three steals.
Montana Cottrell played all 40 minutes, scoring 24 points.
Devonte Curry had 11 points and five rebounds and Adulai Jailoh scored nine points and grabbed eight rebounds.
Landyn Henry had seven points and six rebounds and Isaiah Phillips and Brendan Crump contributed off the bench.
Phillips scored seven points and Crump had nine rebounds and three assists.
The Chargers converted 33 of 73 shots from the floor for 45 percent, including 11 of 31 from 3-point range for 36 percent.
Edison converted 14 of 24 free throws for 58 percent.
The Chargers had 47 rebounds, dished out 15 assists and had 12 turnovers.
