TIPP CITY — At the recent meeting of the Tipp City Garden Club, Tom Hissong, retired education manager and naturalist of Aullwood Audubon Center, transported attendees into spring with his preview of new life, wildflowers, blooming trees, and colorful migratory birds.

Hissong introduced club members and guests to the rule of thumb that spring travels north 15 miles a day. His story telling and his photographs captured everyone’s attention and, at the end, left them hungry for spring and more.

The first business meeting of 2022 followed. A memorial donation was received to honor a former club member, Renee Besecker. The club will be celebrating throughout the year its organization 90 years ago.

The next meeting will be on April 5 at 10 a.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church, 14 W. Walnut Street. Charlie Greene of Tadmoor Greenes will be the presenter. Guests interested in the Garden Club are welcome.
