Lehman Catholic volleyball advances in Troy D-IV action; Milton-Union falls to Anna in D-III

TROY — The Lehman Catholic volleyball team got past Mississinawa Valley in Troy D-IV sectional action Wednesday night.

The Cavaliers rallied from a 20-18 deficit in the first set with seven straight points and went on to 25-20, 25-23, 25-23 victory.

Lehman, 13-10 and the 10th seed will play 18th seed Catholic Central at 3:30 p.m. Saturday.

Marissa Corner had a big night for Lehman with 15 kills, 12 digs and four aces.

Kailee Rank had 12 kills, 14 digs and three aces and Taylor Geise had 15 digs and eight kills.

Caroline Wesner distributed 39 assists and had five digs and Kaitlyn Fortkamp had five kills.

Claire Adams added five digs.

FRIDAY

Friday night caps the football regular season.

In MVL play, Tippecanoe travels to Greenville, Troy will play at Vandalia-Butler and Piqua will host Stebbins.

In TRC play, Milton-Union will host Riverside with the TRC title on the line; Covington will entertain Miami East; Troy Christian will travel to Bethel and Lehman Catholic will play at Northridge.

SATURDAY

Saturday will be a busy day for volleyball and girls soccer teams.

In volleyball, Troy will play Beavercreek in Centerville D-I sectional action at 2:30 p.m.

In Brookville D-III action, Miami East will play Dunbar at 11 a.m., while in Troy D-IV action Troy Christian will play Fort Loramie at 11 a.m. and Lehman Catholic and Catholic Central will meet at 3:30 p.m.

In D-II girls soccer action, Tippecanoe will host Greenville at 7 p.m. at Tipp City Park.

In D-III action, Miami East will host National Trail at 1 p.m.; Troy Christian will play at Middletown Madison at 2 p.m.; Lehman will host Bethel at 3 p.m. and Milton-Union will entertain Newton at 7 p.m.

MONDAY

Volleyball action will continue on Monday.
