Trinity Episcopal Church cancels opera program

TROY — The program “Opera on the Road”, which was slated to be held on Saturday, Feb. 12 at 3 p.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church is located at 60 S. Dorset Road, Troy, has been canceled. The church hopes to reschedule the program soon.

‘Breakfast at Tiffany’s’ to play at Hayner

TROY — On Friday, Feb. 4, at 7 p.m., the Troy-Hayner Cultural Center will show “Breakfast at Tiffany’s.” The Troy-Hayner Cultural Center is located at 301 West Main Street in beautiful Downtown Troy. The film is free and includes an informational introduction to the film. Popcorn and drinks are provided.

“Breakfast at Tiffany’s” is a 1961 American romantic comedy. The film was adapted from Truman Capote’s 1958 novella of the same name. It was directed by Blake Edwards and written by George Axelrod. The movie stars Audrey Hepburn as a naïve society girl who falls in love with a struggling writer.

Valentine’s Day decorating contest set

TIPP CITY — The Christmas holidays are over, but there’s still an opportunity to decorate for the next holiday…Valentine’s Day! Tipp Monroe Community Services is bringing back the Valentine’s Door/Porch Decorating Contest.

There are only three steps to participate. Decorate your front porch or your door; register on the TMCS website at tmcomservices.org and then e-mail a picture to [email protected] by Feb. 7. On Feb. 14, one home will be awarded first place, and all entries will go into a drawing for a gift basket. Registration is required for judging.

TMCS board to meet

TIPP CITY — Tipp Monroe Community Services will hold their next monthly Board of Trustees Meeting on Thursday, Feb. 17, at 6:30 p.m. The TMCS board meets the third Thursday of each month.
