St. Patrick offers grief support

TROY — St. Patrick offers Loss of a Spouse Seminar and GriefShare Support on Saturday, Feb. 5 from 10-11:30 a.m.

Grieving the death of a spouse? Or do you know someone who is?

Your life has changed forever. The daily emotions and challenges can seem too hard to bear. Find help at a Loss of a Spouse seminar.

You’ll hear: Practical advice from others who’ve been there. What to expect in your grief. How to cope with life without your spouse. Why it won’t always hurt this much.

Please join this support group for this encouraging seminar 10-11:30 a.m. on Feb. 5 at the St. Patrick Parish Center, 444 E. Water St. in Troy, in the upstairs Room 3.

TROY — The Troy Board of Education has the following meetings scheduled:

• The board will hold a work session at 5:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 7, at the Miami County Educational Service Center.

• The board will hold its regular monthly meeting at 5:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 14, in the Troy Junior High School library.

Happiness Rocks Ohio on display

WEST MILTON — Happiness Rocks Ohio will showcase their collection during the month of February at the Milton-Union Public Library. Tammy Green of Troy and Debbie Fields of Tipp City filled the library’s showcase with wonderful works of art made with the sole intention of brightening someone’s day. These beautifully painted rocks are meant to be hidden and found by others to spread happiness.

They currently have over 10,000 members in their Facebook group since they started in 2017. For more information, check out the Happiness Rocks Ohio Facebook page or stop in to see them at Milton-Union Pubic Library, 560 S. Main St. in West Milton.

ACT test prep offered, increase your ACT score

TIPP CITY — Increase your ACT score by attending a seminar hosted by Tipp Monroe Community Services. The instructor will be Dave Dobos, MIT alumnus. The cost for the class is $79 for residents and $89 for non-residents. The class will be held on two consecutive Sundays, Feb. 6 and 13, from 1-4 p.m. at the Tippecanoe Middle School, Tipp City. This intensive, six-hour, in-person seminar, will teach students how to maximize their test scores by covering test format and structure, what content appears on the test, ACT-specific testing strategies, and time management strategies. Dobos has taught ACT classes for TMCS for over six years. Tuition includes the book Ace the ACT by Kelly Roell and subsequent online access to sample questions, answers, assessment, and content-area flash cards
