McMaken appointed president of Piqua Board of Education

PIQUA — The Piqua Board of Education recently held its organizational meeting, during which Kelly McMaken was appointed the president of the Piqua Board of Education. Sean Ford was appointed as the vice president of the board.

McMaken and Ford were sworn in to their new roles, and Sean Mitchell was also sworn in as a new member of the board. Mitchell filled the seat of former board member Andy Hite, who retired after serving on the board for the past 16 years.

The board meeting dates for 2022 include the following dates: Jan. 27, Feb. 24, March 17, April 28, May 19, June 23, July 21, Aug. 25, Sept. 22, Oct. 20, Nov. 17, and Dec. 15.

All meetings will be held at 6 p.m. at the Piqua Board of Education office, located at 215 Looney Rd. in Piqua, unless otherwise noted.

The following board appointments for 2022 are below:

• OSBA Legislative Liaison: Kelly McMaken

• OSBA Student Achievement/Student Voice: Sean Mitchell

• OSBA Delegate: Kelly McMaken

• OSBA Alternate Delegate: Sean Ford

• Maintenance/Construction of Grounds and Facilities Committee: Clint Bostick, Steve Frazier

• Audit Committee: Clint Bostick, Sean Ford

• UVCC Board Representative: Clint Bostick

• Piqua Education Board Representative: Kelly McMaken

• Diversity/Inclusivity Committee: Sean Mitchell

The 2022-2023 and 2023-2024 school district calendars were also approved.
